To drive a heavy vehicle in New South Wales, you generally need to meet the following requirements:

In New South Wales, an MR (Medium Rigid) licence allows you to drive Medium Rigid vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) exceeding 8 tonnes. This includes buses and trucks with two axles, as well as vehicles with a GVM up to 8 tonnes that are towing a trailer with a GVM of up to 9 tonnes.
